Website Terms & Conditions

The basis on which this website is provided

Effective date: 28 April 2026
Trading name: What Works Psychology
Trading style: Dr Henry Briscoe (Sole Trader)
Contact: contact@whatworkspsychology.co.uk

These Terms govern your use of the What Works Psychology website at whatworkspsychology.co.uk. By using the website, contacting us through it, or signing up to the newsletter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

These Terms cover only your use of the website itself. If you go on to engage Dr Briscoe for clinical psychology services, a separate written engagement agreement will be provided setting out the terms specific to that work — including fees, cancellation policy, confidentiality, and ending therapy. Those clinical terms apply alongside (not instead of) this Notice.

1. About us

The website is operated by Dr Henry Briscoe, a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), trading as What Works Psychology (sole trader). Contact: contact@whatworkspsychology.co.uk.

2. Information on this website

The information on this website is provided for general information only. It describes Dr Briscoe's approach, the kinds of difficulties he works with, fees, and how to enquire. It is not clinical advice and is not a substitute for professional psychological, medical, or therapeutic care. Reading the website does not create a clinical relationship.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate and up to date, but make no warranty that the website will be free from errors or interruptions, or that the information will be complete or current at the time you view it.

This website is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in crisis or feel at risk, please contact your GP, NHS 111, the Samaritans on 116 123, or in an emergency, 999 or your local A&E. We cannot provide urgent or out-of-hours support through this website.

3. Enquiries through the website

You may submit a general enquiry using the contact form. The form is intended only to arrange a follow-up call. Please do not share confidential or clinical information in the form — anything sensitive can be discussed once a private, secure conversation has been arranged.

Submitting an enquiry does not commit either of us to entering into a clinical engagement. If we agree to proceed to an assessment, you will be sent a separate engagement agreement setting out the clinical terms.

4. Newsletter

If you sign up to the newsletter, you consent to receiving occasional emails from What Works Psychology. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. We will never share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, design, and structure — is the intellectual property of What Works Psychology unless otherwise indicated. You may view and share links to the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of any content without prior written permission is prohibited.

6. Links to other websites

Where the website links to third-party resources (for example, NHS or HCPC pages), those links are provided for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of external websites.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, What Works Psychology shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its content, including indirect, consequential, or special loss. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Privacy and data

How we handle personal information you provide through the website is set out in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the website following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Contact
